KiKi
Kiki started her pole journey in 2016 and feel in love with the art form immediately. As she began teaching years later, she found it immensely important to create a safe space for plus size bodies to learn and engage in pole dance. She wanted to form an environment that she could not find elsewhere; a place that geared their teaching to plus size bodies and centered the needs of plus size students in pole dance. After much thought, and a little fear, she decided it was time to bring that dream into reality when she created The Curvy Experience in 2023. Not only has TCE met Kiki’s personal goal, but it has also exceeded her expectations as she has seen how the space has become an integral part of her student’s lives. TCE has become more than just a place to learn pole, it has become a community and safe haven for plus size bodies to take up space unapologetically.
Founder
JUNIE B. MOANS
From student to instructor, your girl was born out of The Curvy Experience. Her pole journey started in June 2024 when she saw a post for a beginner’s pole workshop specifically for curvy bodies. It was that first class that she finally had found an outlet for moving her body in a way that felt exciting and motivating. She has been a regular at TCE since that following September. She progressed through the 5-Week Beginner Pole Series, kept showing up to nearly every class, graduated to intermediate, and eventually started teaching through private lessons. Though she has been a dancer for quite some time having grown up in the competitive dance world, she’s always had the biggest passion for education. She has a decade of teaching experience and there’s nothing she loves more than helping someone learn a new skill.
Instructor
Faith has been a practitioner and coach of various circus and pole disciplines (such as fire dancing, aerial arts, and hand balancing) for over 15 years. She is deeply nerdy about movement and loves combining biomechanical analysis with embodied play as a coach. Faith also loves chaotic music choices, having menagerie of grip aids, and unhinged cues.
InstructorFAITH
Nessa brings slow, sultry, and powerful energy to every spin and strut. She began her pole journey in 2022 and quickly found that it wasn’t just a workout—it was a transformative way to reconnect with her body, embrace sensuality, and build self-trust. Since then, she’s graced the stage in pole burlesque performances across Philadelphia and competed in the 2024 Pole Sport Organization (PSO). Nessa is excited to foster an inclusive, body-celebrating space for all students, encouraging them to find their own power, flow, and confidence.
